Bureau of Indian Standards has approved Standards on Coir Bhoovastra and they have published two standards viz. Indian Standard IS 15868 (Part 1 to 6 – 2008), Indian Standard - Natural Fibre Geotextiles (Jute Geotextiles and Coir Bhoovastra) methods of test and IS 15869 - 2008 – Indian Standard Textiles – Open Weave Coir Bhoovastra specification.
